Just a blog about the weekend, no big deal

So, just wanted to share our weekend. It started off GREAT with Friday night's dinner, thanks to Uncle Jimmo!!!

There was lots of puppy lovin... duh.

Mallorie at the shutter

Fiona now goes outside a lot. She is still pretty pissed at us about the puppy, but she's warming up.

Saturday Mallorie spent the day with her cousin and Gillian & I went to see Daddy at the station.

Gillian had a blast with her new monster feet. (Her favorite part was chasing after the cat, of course.)

Sunday our friends came to visit and swim at Bert's.

The new foal is starting to warm up to us a bit, not too much.

And this was how it ended last night. Picture perfect.

OK, Peoples - Here she is!

We picked her up yesterday!! We are super excited. For those of you that don't know, her name is Bernadette (a character from one of our favorite movies). The character Bernadette (or Benny or Bernie whatever you like), was a beefy Irish lass. "Beef to the heels" to be precise, which fits our little girl to a T.

She eats, peeps, poops and sleeps and then sleeps some more. Oh and she plays a little bit too.

Just wanted to share. The pictures say most of it. We'll keep you updated on how she's doin, how we're doin and just her cuteness in general.

Oh, Fiona doesn't know what to think. She isn't acting jealous really, just a little confused. Notice the puffy tail.

A Roller Coaster

OF EMOTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this week has been very up & down for us. More like down & up. As you know only a short week ago we lost our Casey. Monday we buried her in quiet spot, under a beautiful tree, with lovng, somber hearts.

Yesterday I get a call that Mallorie has hurt her ankle. We spent 2 hours in the ER. Turns out its just a bad sprain. She is doing really great. When Gillian found out her sissy was hurt, she brought her a bunch of flowers from Grandma's house. She's been really sweet "helping out."

So to add to all of this... Today we went and saw some puppies. "Just to look."

This is a sweet little girl that will be ready to join our family in a few weeks. I can't lie. There is an amount of guilt that goes along with this. I do feel so strange getting a puppy so soon after losing my girl. But how can one pass up an opportunity such as this? Do you see her sweet little face, PEOPLE PLEASE!!!

Although there will always be a void in our hearts that could never be filled, there is now a quietness in our house that wouldn't mind a little bit of happiness. And what better than a puppy? C'mon, its a puppy!!

OK guys, love you, take care. Comment PLEASE!

The Run, The Fun & The Famous

OK, so the title is dumb, but this is what it all means, Friends:

Last night the girls & I went to Siesta Key with our friends Crytal & Kaiden, for the "Fun Run" (oxymoron). There wasn't that much running involved, but it definitely was fun.

(This is Gillian in her "HOLD ME, cause I'm too hot and tired to exist" stage.)

OH! And whilst enjoying our sandwiches & delectable frozen custards, we saw a Smothers Brother at Sweet Berries!! Whoa what an awesome feeling to be so close to someone so famous!!! Haha, I kid, but really we saw him. The one WITH the hair... OK, dumb story. But it was exciting for like 2.5 minutes. I promise you.

Love to all, Karla

Sheep continued...

This is an article that explains why all those sheep were in the road in my post about ketchup - well it wasn't really about ketchup.

Sheep story

(They were not on their way back to the airport. WE were on OUR way back to the airport. Haha!)

Just a quickie

Hey guys, I just had to tell you all really quick and sadly that I spoke too soon in my previous post. As soon as I told you all that Casey was doing well, her health declined quickly and this morning we had her put to sleep. We are so sad, but we are very glad that she isn't sick anymore and not suffering. She was not eating at all and we know it was the right thing to do. Those that knew her know that she was one in a million - the greatest dog ever. We miss her so much.

Love, Karla, Lee, Mallorie & Gillian.

ketchup (catch up)

So these are things we've been doing lately:

In June the girls & I went to Colorado with Grandma Bert & Grandma Helen to visit Aunt Amy.

Oddly, on our trip we encountered a bunch of animals, on accident:

The limping dear on the way to the playgound (we were on our way to the playground).

This little guy (a prairie dog, I'm told) was just hanging out on the playground.

Cows on the loose on the way home from the store (again that's us coming back from the store).

These are the sheep being hearded for miles along the highway, on the way back to the airport to go home.

Other than all the wild animals we saw, we did a bunch of different things on our trip.

Alpine slide down the mountain at Durango Mountain Resort (f/k/a Purgatory).

Horseback riding

Tubing

Kneeboarding

And a whole lotta just hanging out. And let's not forget to mention all the rummy that was played...

In other news, Casey our beloved is sick. She has cancer. She is the greatest dog ever invented and we love her dearly. She is doing very well, infact if we didn't know she had cancer, we wouldn't know anything was wrong. She is just a little slower in her old age. Sufficed to say, she now gets anything she wants including wet food, new toys & that's right she gets to hang out on the bed again....

OK, guys that's it for my 2nd blog. Hope it was full of excitement and gave you at least 5 minutes of mind blowing entertainment. Tata for now, LOVE, Karla (Lee, Mallorie & Gillian too)

Numero Uno

OK Folks, here it is. I don't know if I'll keep this up or how interesting it'll be for ya, but here it is nonetheless. I'm bored at work today (as usual) and The Man won't let us access myspace anymore... so this is the next best thing, I suppose. I'll try to keep it going, add pics, intrigue, etc. So check back when you can, if you feel like it, if you have nothing else better to do with your time.

Love, Kar-Kar
